Responsibility for my happiness and fulfillment

is mine and mine alone.

Others may strive to assist, but I hold the key.

 

Responsibility for overcoming despair, hopelessness and perceived limitation is mine and mine alone.

Others may comfort me to the extent they are able,

but I hold the key.

 

Responsibility for shining in this world as only I can

is mine and mine alone.

Others may offer their light in hopes I catch fire,

but I hold the key.

 

The key is mine and mine alone…

And when I am ready, I may choose to open the door…
